Matt Devoti Helps Client Get Larger Workers’ Compensation Pay-Out

Posted by Lara Vitiello on October 22, 2019

Earlier this month, a Casey, Devoti & Brockland client resolved his injury claim for nearly twice the amount offered before he hired our firm.  Ed P. does body work for an auto collision repair shop in mid-Missouri.  Ed’s job demands extensive use of his hands and arms, including the repetitive handling of vibrating machinery and tools requiring twisting and turning of his hands and wrists.

Before our firm’s involvement, Ed’s employer offered him a lump sum to resolve his Workers’ Compensation claim.  Unsatisfied and unwilling to accept the initial offer, Ed contacted  Partner Matthew Devoti.  Matt filed a claim on Ed’s behalf and complied evidence to maximize Ed’s compensation.  Less than a year after retaining Matt’s services, Ed settled his case for nearly twice the amount originally offered by his employer.  He recovered $15,000 more than he would have received had he accepted the original offer.

Ed’s experience is unusual, as most of our clients hire us long before any offer is made to settle their claim.  But, Ed’s result and the way in which Ed found us are very typical.  Ed was referred to Matt by a former client.  “For over 35 years, we have sustained and grown our firm strictly through word-of-mouth referrals from past clients, other attorneys, family and friends,” Devoti said.   “I’m proud of my track record of pressing Workers’ Compensation claims on behalf of my clients. And, I’m honored to have a referral network that is confident in my ability to assist those who need help with personal injury claims.”
