Anne Brockland Joins Adjunct Faculty at SLU Law

Earlier this year, Partner Anne Brockland joined the adjunct faculty at St. Louis University School of Law, where she co-teaches Competition Based Advocacy. She is honored to serve her alma mater and give back to the local law community.

In February, SLU Law sent two teams to the National Trial Competition regional in Indianapolis, where both teams advanced to the semi-finals. In early April, Anne traveled with a third SLU Law team to Kansas City for the Show Me Challenge – a national jury selection tournament.  While the team did not advance to the finals, the experience they gained was invaluable.

Mock trial competitions are important teaching tools during a lawyer’s academic career. These competitions allow law students to apply their classroom knowledge to mock courtroom scenarios. Students are given the opportunity to navigate courtrooms and practice trial procedures such as jury selection (voir dire), opening statements, presentation of evidence, cross-examination and closing arguments.

Anne hosted an end-of-the-semester party for several of her Competition Advocacy students.
