Casey & Devoti and Partner Matthew Devoti were recently recognized by the Gateway Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for their continued support and service to the organization.  Matt Devoti received the 2014 Outstanding CF Advocate Award, which is given each year to an individual or company that is a leading advocate for the Gateway chapter.

Matt has several family members afflicted with cystic fibrosis.  Over the years, he has worked tirelessly to support the Gateway CFF in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis research in the St. Louis area.  In recent years, Matt served as ‘co-host’ of the annual Wine Opener fundraiser, which raises almost $70,000 annually for Gateway CFF.  Over the last several years, Casey & Devoti served as a corporate sponsor of the Wine Opener.  In 2013, Gateway CFF invited Matt to become a member of its Board of Directors.

As one of its key community partners, Casey & Devoti is pleased to support Gateway CFF and its mission to raise funds and awareness for people living with CF in the St. Louis area. The mission of the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatments, and ensuring access to high quality, specialized care.

The Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. There is now an FDA-approved therapy (Kalydeco) that treats not just the symptoms but the underlying genetic defect for some people living with CF.

CF is a complex disease. Patients benefit most from a multi-disciplinary approach to their care. The CF Foundation funds over 110 cystic fibrosis care centers nationwide, which provide diagnostic services, comprehensive treatment and support for patients’ families. The care centers also serve an important role in the CF research program.

The Foundation also provides and funds a range of services and programs that help patients live better lives today. The Foundation supported Patient Assistance Resource Center provides a starting point for people living with CF to access a range of services and programs, including help with medications, insurance coverage and reimbursement, legal rights, and mutation analysis.

There are Cystic Fibrosis Foundation chapters in nearly every major city across the country. Individuals can get involved by volunteering their time and talents, participating in one of the many fundraising events or by advocating to local, state and federal elected officials.  If you reside in or around the St. Louis area, we invite you to participate in or sponsor one of the 2015 Gateway CFF events:
