Fraudulent Extended Auto Warranty
Sales Practices
Sales Practices
Casey & Devoti is currently prosecuting claims involving the deceptive sales practices used by sellers of extended automobile warranties. Our investigation suggests that certain sellers of these warranties use fraudulent and deceptive means to entice consumers to purchase warranty products. State consumer protection laws prohibit businesses to use deceptive practices to sell the business’s products and services.
Our firm recently filed a class-action lawsuit in St. Charles County, Missouri against US Fidelis. The suit alleges violations of Missouri consumer protection law. We believe that US Fidelis and its predecessor, National Auto Warranty Services, Inc., lied to consumers about coverage provided by the warranties the company offered for sale, pressured consumers to purchase plans under a “false sense of urgency”, and failed to provide the complete terms of service plans to consumers following request.
