ABOUT CASEY & DEVOTI

  • We only handle plaintiffs’ personal injury cases.
  • We focus on personal injury AND personal service – you’ll never be treated like just another case number.
  • We have over 30 years of extensive trial experience – we are proud of our reputation as a firm that is not afraid to try a lawsuit.
  • We don’t believe in traditional advertising – we rely solely on word-of-mouth referrals from friends, family, past clients and other attorneys.
  • We proudly serve the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area, Southeastern Missouri and Southern Illinois.
  • We are happy to meet with you for a free initial consultation – at our conveniently located St. Louis office, “by appointment” in Ste. Genevieve or at a location of your choice.

PERSONAL INJURY LITIGATION

If you have been the victim of negligence caused by another, then you may be entitled to compensation for things like medical reimbursement, lost wages, pain and suffering.

We don’t accept every case. However, we are happy to meet with you for an initial consultation free of charge. The initial consultation is an honest and open dialogue designed to educate both parties. We want to have a clear picture of your specific legal circumstance. More importantly, you need to have a clear picture of who we are as attorneys, our firm’s philosophy and how we would approach your specific legal matter. We welcome and encourage you to ask as many questions as you’d like, so that you feel comfortable.

If we determine that you would benefit from the services of another lawyer and we will be happy to offer you a referral.

COMMERCIAL LITIGATION

In addition to personal injury cases, our lawyers have represented various small to mid-sized companies in commercial disputes. We have had success in all types of commercial cases including contract disputes, non-compete violations, and trade secret violations.

We realize the economic constraints small corporations face when presented with the prospect of litigation. The large hourly fees charged by many of the large corporate law firms are not economically feasible for many small companies. Our attorneys understand this. We are willing to work with our commercial clients to develop a fee schedule that is in their best interest. We have worked with small businesses under contingent fee agreements, on an hourly fee basis, and have even worked under a blended rate structure.

CASE SELECTION

We only accept cases that we feel have true merit and are worthy of a true fight for justice. This is because first and foremost, we are trial lawyers. Our goal is always to prepare a case as if it would be tried – never to get a quick settlement. From the moment we take your case, one of our three attorneys:  Matt and Matt – will work tirelessly to expertly prepare your case as if it will go to trial. We firmly believe that maximum case preparation ultimately leads to maximum case results.

PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY

We believe the practice of law is a profession, not a business. We don’t believe in traditional advertising. You won’t see our faces on billboards or buses around town. You won’t hear us touting our settlements or the latest class action suit on TV or radio. We believe our expertise, experience, longevity and results speak for themselves. After all, we have sustained and grown our firm for over thirty years strictly by word-of-mouth referrals. Because we believe so firmly in this approach to growing our business, Casey & Devoti is a proud member of the Injury Board – an association of civil trial lawyers who believe in growing their law firm through relationships, leadership, community and results.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

Our commitment to personal service doesn’t stop with our law firm clients. We believe it is our duty to extend our personal service to the community at-large. Our servant-leadership roles take many forms – from leading professional associations, to volunteering for charitable and civic organizations.

Tom, Matt and Matt have all been appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to serve on the Regional Disciplinary Committee for Region XI. This prestigious committee handles inquires, investigations and recommendations of lawyer misconduct. Additionally, Matt Casey has served for years as councilmen for a St. Louis county municipality. And, Matt Devoti serves on the boards of two local non-profit organizations. We are proud of the work we have accomplished outside of the firm and look forward to continuing the Casey & Devoti tradition of community service.

PERSONAL SERVICE

The majority of our clients are referred by other lawyers. We have developed a large referral base among our peers because of our reputation for competency and integrity in the field of personal injury litigation.

Our other main source of referrals is past clients. Over the years, we’ve helped thousands of people recover compensation after an injury. So have many other personal injury law firms. The Casey & Devoti difference is – we treat our clients like people.  You will never be treated like just another case number.  Our previous clients highly recommend us – not because of the settlements they received, but because of the legendary personal service they received.

Our highly accessible attorneys, Matt and Matt will walk with you every step of the way – giving you expert guidance and reassurance. When you call with questions or concerns, you will speak directly with them – always in terms you can easily understand.
